Jen snapped this pic of Bella and I while we were at a baby shower. People always mention I never post pics of myself. I'm usually the one behind the camera (and I don't particularly like being in front of it).
A friend let me borrow a baby chair, so we could test it out on Bella before purchasing one. I had to pack blankets around her, but she seemed to like the view. Seems like she is always lying down and I think she liked being able to sit up for a while.
Bella likes tummy time. She always looks so surprised when she rolls over, like she didn't really intend to. I love the bottom on her pants which was the whole reason I took the picture. Had to get a couple pics of it before she grows out of them!
We joined our friends the Tibbetts at Play-Dayz this morning. Today's fun included toddler yoga, which Kayden was less than thrilled about. But, once the scarfs, parachute and bubbles came out, he opened up and started to play. The bubbles are made of sugar and they don't pop right away, enabling the kids to catch them first.
Bella is 12 weeks old today. Where does the time go? This sweet smile just for mommy makes all the sleepless nights well worth it. She did bless me by sleeping extremely well last night. She went down at 7 and slept until 7 this morning. She did wake to eat of course, but went right back out. Tonight, well, she's still fighting sleep.
As promised, I'm taking more pics this week. I suppose it's not a wonder why she doesn't sleep at night, given that she spends most of the day asleep! Kayden and I went to check out a pre-school today (signed him up!), went to Petco to see the animals, then stopped off at Jamba Juice. She slept the whole time. Even slept for another 2 hours after we got home. I'm trying to get her on a more normal schedule, but it's not working so well. She finally goes down around 1 AM, which in retrospect, beats 4 AM like it used to be.
Today Kayden and I made a snowman craft. He wasn't in the posing mood. It's like pulling teeth to get him in front of the camera sometimes. We made a ton of snowmen! It's amazing how easily a 3 year old can be entertained with paper, a glue stick and cotton balls. (Never mind the nakedness, he has on big boy undies!)
My Grandma passed away 2 years ago. I miss her terribly. She only got to see Kayden once and Bella has her middle name, Merlene. I only wish my children would have had the chance to really know her, and her them. She bravely battled cancer 3 times before it ended her life, much too soon.
Kayden had to drive a car while we were there (of course!)
My Grandpa came up for a visit this past weekend. He'd never been to Seattle, so we played tourist on Sunday. We went to the Space Needle, Pike Place Market and then to the Fisherman's for a crab feast. Despite the long walk back to the car (stupid Monorail was out of service for the trip back), in the snow, it was a great day.
These pics were of Bella when she was 9 weeks old. She's almost 12 weeks, so I need to take some more. It's so neat to watch all the firsts come around again. She rolled over at 10 weeks and is full of coos and smiles.
The weather was real nasty on Saturday, but rather than brood, we took advantage of the wind and Kayden and James flew kites. I got to play with the new lense James got me for Christmas. I was able to stand on the porch and take pics of Kayden close up. It's got awesome zoom!
